This Cookie Policy explains how FaceApp Technology Limited (“FaceApp”, “us”, “we”, or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at www.faceapp.com (the “Site”) and related FaceApp mobile application (the “App”) (collectively, the “Services”).

1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?

In the context of our Site, Cookies are small text files of letters and numbers that are stored and accessed by the browser on your computer or mobile device (for example, Google Chrome or Safari). We do not use web cookies, and we do not engage in cross-site tracking. When you visit our Site, only a single item is stored in your browser storage; this item is never transmitted, contains no personal data, and is used purely to remember your consent to hide the cookie banner.

In the context of our App, Cookies mean any technology that stores or accesses information on the user’s device, including first-party cookies for session stickiness, any unique identifiers, embedded SDKs, and local storage. Our App does not support user login. Each installation of our application gets a unique App Instance ID that is used to identify a specific App installation instance to differentiate one app instance from others. Our Services, and our partners if you agree to it, use App Instance ID and similar technologies (collectively, “Cookies”) to distinguish you from other users of our Services. Such technologies are app-scoped, meaning the identifiers, App Instance ID, operate only within our App and possess no meaning outside of our App. We do not use cross-app IDs like Advertising IDs as we do not display Ads in our Services.

2. HOW WE USE COOKIES

We do not sell or share your personal data with third-party data brokers. We do not track your behavior across other applications or websites.

Our Site does not use cookies. Only a single item is stored in your browser storage; this item is never transmitted, contains no personal data, and is used purely to remember your consent to hide the cookie banner.

Our App uses the following categories of “Cookies”:

  • Essential: These are required to allow you to use the App. For example, we need to store your App Instance ID to provide you with the core functionality of the App. As essential cookies and similar technologies are necessary, we can use them without your consent.
  • Analytics: These help us understand how the App performs, how users interact with the App, and help us identify improvements for enhanced user-experience.
  • Troubleshooting: These are used for troubleshooting, testing, and researching, and help us improve quality by recording errors, application crashes and performance issues.
  • Marketing: These are used to compute the aggregated number of app installs by installation source, using privacy-centric attribution frameworks. We do not collect Advertising IDs as we do not display Ads of any format in our App.

3. HOW DO I MANAGE MY COOKIE PREFERENCES?

You can block Non-Essential Cookies through the mechanisms described below. However, note that even Non-Essential Cookies are important to many aspects of the Services.

Cookie Banner: On our Site, you will be presented with a simply Cookie Banner informing you that we do not use cookies on our Site, and you can “hide” the banner by storing your consent locally in the browser’s local storage. In our App, you will be presented with a Cookie Banner that allows you to accept or reject Non-Essential Cookies. We only use Non-Essential Cookies with your prior consent. By selecting accept button, you consent to the use of all Non-Essential cookies and similar technologies. You can also use reject button and decline additional cookies. You can manage your consent preferences by selecting customize button or by navigating to the “Privacy & Legal” section on our App at any time.

Revoke consent: In our App, you have the right to modify or withdraw your consent at any time with future effect by navigating to the “Privacy & Legal” section on our Apps.

Blocking Cookies in your browser. Even though, we do not use cookies in our Site, most browsers let you remove or reject Cookies. To do this, follow the instructions in your browser settings. Many browsers accept Cookies by default until you change your settings. We do not sell or share your personal data.

We comply with applicable laws in California (CCPA & CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), and Utah (UCPA), and respect opt-out rights; and will honor data requests in accordance with legal requirements.
